FED: Qantas workers impose bans
SYDNEY, Jan 17 AAP - Qantas maintenance workers have imposed work bans against theairline after rejecting an offer for a pay deal.
Qantas was yesterday left with no option but to return to the drawing board to seeka deal with maintenance unions, after members rejected an offer for a pay increase.
While the Australian Workers Union and the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union haveso far ruled out further strikes, work bans are back in force at Melbourne Airport.
A spokeswoman for the AWU said members in Sydney would meet this afternoon to decidewhether to impose bans there.
